Vasectomy and tubal ligation

Vasectomy

A vasectomy is a procedure that stops a man from pregnantating a woman. It involves cutting or blocking two tubes, called vas deferens, in order to prevent sperm from entering the semen. Vasectomy is a type of birth control for males only. In teens, I personally recommend to NOT do this procedure since you are still young and you might regret this decision. This procedure costs around 6000 USD dollars and its 99-100% effective.

Sterilization

The word tubal refers to the fallopian tubes carrying the egg released every month from an ovary to your uterus. The word “ligation” means binding. Since this procedure prevents the connection of the egg and male sperm, pregnancy is prevented. It is also called a procedure for female sterilization. Sterilization is a type of birth control for females only. In teens, I personally recommend to NOT do this procedure since you are still very young and you might regret this decision when you get older. This procedure costs around 1000 USD dollar and its 99-100% effective.

Overall

Overall, I personally recommend that teenagers don’t get this procedure if they are still not 100% sure if you want to have children. After this surgery, you can’t go back. Both vasectomy and sterilization can’t be removed after done to the human body. So please, I recommend taking any other form of birth control, such as the pill or condoms.
